Flite-Metal and weathering the F-105 and F-104

Flite-Metal,paint and steel wool; I'm in search of well worn painted aluminum.

The pics show sanded and unsanded Flite Metal prior to rivet and panel line impressions. 

After sanding and impressions I started experimenting with steel wool to remove the paint revealing the metal underneath.

Also included are some shots of the F-104 work being done in a similar way with paint over metal. The F-104 will be done in German Marine Grey and the F-105 in Viet Nam/Southeast Asia colors, both very distressed in their surface appearance.
